Action was hott and heavy all day in Portland at the Tournament of Champions. The most anticipated matchup of the day was in the 2024 division between #1 ranked Team FOE and #3 ranked Team Thrill. The game lived up to the hype but FOE led most of the way and won 71-63 to back up the hype. Deontrell Barrett and Marlon Linton were stars for Team FOE who ended up going 2-0 with a 52-39 win over Arizona Storm Black. Barrett and Linton starred in the biggest game both putting up over 20 points. Barrett is a strong lefty guard who punishes defenders with the rock in his hand. Linton is known as a lock down defender but showed he can score as well.

STARS OF THE DAY
Terrence Hill (2024) of NW Athletics may have been the best player we seen all day. Hill carried his team by scoring on all three levels with either hand and creating for his teammates. Hill is one of the top players in the class, kept his team in the game vs. the NY Gauchos.
Ben Roseborough (2024) playing up 2023 for Matt Barnes Elite. Roseborough is ranked 6th in the nation currently for the 2024 class. He was putting on a show all day, instead of me telling you what he did, go ask him what he wanted to do yesterday cause thats what he did. He did what he wanted all day long, the California native can go.
Danny Carbuccia and Johnuel "Boogie" Fland (2024) of the New York Gauchos are one of the best back courts in the country and we seen why. Both are ranked in the national player rankings and they bring pressure 94 feet on both ends. They defend 94 feet and on offense are in constant attack mode. Gauchos went 2-0 with wins over NW Athletics and Washington Supreme.
Aden Holloway (2023) of CP3 has been considered one of the top players in the class since he was in 2nd grade. The Charlotte native isn't going anywhere. A true point guard, Holloway ran the show keeping his teammates involved, and disrupted the opponents offense. Holloway shot a high percent as well. CP3 went 2-0 in pool play action in super pool with Team Thrill, Dynasty Red and City Ballers.
Donald "Chili" Stephens (2023) of Team Dynasty is a Portland native and the hometown guy was a star on Saturday. A strong guard, Stephens loves to use his body and showed the ability to go through his defender and finish at the rim with either hand. Team Dynasty went 1-1 beating City Ballers but loss to CP3.
Michael Minton (2023) of Utah Elite is an athletic wing who flourishes in transition. In the half court setting he has a quick first step and gets to the rim and finishes. A good rebounder and sneaky defender. Utah Elite went 1-1 in day one with a win over Oakland Rebels and a loss to Under Armour Power House Hoops.
Nigel James (2024) of Team Thrill. If you didn't look at the grades and just their game, you would think Nigel was an 8 year NBA veteran the way he ran the point guard spot. Has a good looking shot, gets in the lane on offense, but could get there more if he wanted too. James loves to defend and crawls in you full court. Team Thrill went 1-1 on the day losing to Team FOE but knocking off Vegas Elite.
Jahnathan Lamoche (2023) of Team Thrill was in his bag yesterday. Lamoche is a nationally ranked prospect in our 2023 class and he showed why yesterday. I can't tell you everything he did, you ask yourself if he did it and simple answer is yes. Lamoche can do any and everything on the basketball court, amazing player. Thrill loss to CP3 but beat the City Ballers in pool play.
Elijah Fisher (2023) Grassroots Canada. Defenses attempted to make Fisher earn every bucket he got, but thats what he did. The current #2 ranked player nationally in 2023 backed up the hype. A physical specimen he can do anything he wants on the court right now. His team went 1-1 in day one with a win over WCE Wright and a loss to Team United.
Tyce Paulsen (2023) of Team Clutch is a 6'0 guard who is a nice guard who caught our eye. Paulsen can rebound on defense and lead the break himself, a great passer he hits his teammates in stride. Paulsen has a nice pull up game off the dribble.
Tremayne Parker (2023) or Team United. Parker is a dog on the court and is a freak athlete. He guards the teams best player with intensity, goes after every rebound on both ends. Has a nice mid range game and even caught a body. Team United beat Grassroots Canada and loss to Team Loaded in pool play.
Kota Benson (2023) Tuscon Bulldogs guard had a pull up like no other in Portland yesterday. A very explosive guard, Benson got in the lane on about 80 percent of his touches. Hard to guard.
