Trae Young sent waves across college basketball last season but that came to a mild suprise to say the least to most people who follow youth basketball. The current Atlanta Hawk guard and former Oklahoma Sooner tore the EYBL circuit up with Mokan Elite leading them to the Peach Jam Championship in 2017. Trae Young is now going back to his roots and sponsoring a youth basketball program.
Trae Young elite is now established out of the state of Okahoma, Young's native state. Trae Young just signed with Adidas in June and this team will be Adidas sponsored and will be on the Adidas Gauntlet circuit in the near future. Currently Oklahoma doesn't feature an Adidas sponsored team on the gold side of the Gauntlet, Oklahoma Power is on the silver side.
This upcoming season, Trae Young Elite will feature teams from the 2029 class to the 2023 division. The teams are primarily made up of a merger from Oklahoma Chaos Elite and OKC Franchize. They will have tryouts so be on the lookout of the dates, this past weekend they just had tryouts for 2023 - 2025 divisions.
We look forward to seeing the evolution of the program and hopefully we see them at the National MS Elite Showdown June 22-23rd in Oklahoma City. This will be the 3rd year of the event, previously we held it in Dallas, Texas but are moving it to Oklahoma City for year three, flyer and information will be released next week.
