Las Vegas, NV 2024 guard, D.J. Thomas, is the son of former UNLV superstar guard Dedan Thomas, but the younger Thomas is quickly making a name of his own. Thomas was unknown to Coast 2 Coast Preps until 2016 when he was at the League Finals in Louisville. Thomas was unknown not because of his game but because he always played multiple grades above his age.

This weekend, D.J. participated in the 8th grade Finale in Augusta, GA with the Las Vegas Prospects as a 6th grader. Even though playing up against the nations best 8th graders, Thomas was a superstar averaging 12 points 4 assists and 2 steals per game for the Nike EYBL program. Thomas wasted no time getting the party started, in the opening game he had 18 points to go with 5 assists in a 61-60 win over We All Can Go and our current #1 player in the 2022 class, Chris Livingston.

More than padding stats, Thomas showed ice water in his veins against WACG nailing three free throws with 1.4 on the clock to give the Prospects the 61-60 lead. In addition to solid first game, Thomas performed well against Team Takeover and Pro Skills scoring double figure in both games while having 9 assits and 5 steals between the two.

Thomas is constantly perfecting his craft against the older competition and very easily could be the top player in the 2024 class. Check out his mix and let us know what you think.
