The torch has been passed in Memphis, as the nations #1 player for the 2021 class, Zion Harmon, is taking over the point guard position for Bluff City (formerly Team Penny) from Alex Lomax. Only a freshman, Harmon is entering his third season on the 17u EYBL circuit.
Harmon was the starting point guard last year for Boo Williams who finished as a top 2 team in the EYBL regular season and a semi-finalist at the Peach Jam. Harmon averaged 32.7 points per game this season on the high school level in Kentucky. He was the states leading scorer and led all freshman nationally in scoring.
Does this move make Bluff City the favorite?
Harmon added to a team featuring Kentucky commit D.J. Jeffries, the nations #1 2019 in James Wiseman and Chandler Lawson certainly makes them one of the favorites if not the favorite. Bluff City was only missing a point guard now that Lomax has graduated, but it looks like their prayers have been answered and the torch has been passed to Harmon.
